Focusing on the importance the arts can bring to area youth, the Greater Newburgh YMCA's Y-ARTS Program looks to introduce and encourage creative ways to communicate and express oneself.
Call for NeedleArts Enthusiasts! We are currently looking for people to assist teaching knitting, crocheting and other needlearts to youth ages 7+. All materials and instruction booklets are free to participants. Groups would be 5 to 10 children large (adult/child ratio of 1:3) and require a committment of no more than 3 hours per week. Interested? Contact Jennifer Rawlison today! |

| PAST PROJECTS: |
| "Hear My Voice, See My City" is the most recent program which combined photography, writing and bookbinding to produce personal journals to represent the lives and dreams of City of Newburgh teens. Displayed at the Newburgh Free Library, this exhibit opened discussion on the misconceptions the City of Newburgh fights each day and represented the vast differences and likenesses all people here in Orange County have. |
